Women's Doubles Tennis Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 WTA Finals

The 2019 WTA Finals tennis tournament for women players on the WTA circuit is taking place this week from October 27 to November 3, 2019, on the indoor hard courts at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre located in Shenzhen, China. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the women doubles tennis players at the 2019 WTA Finals.



The WTA Finals is the year-end championship for the top women tennis players in the sport. Only the top eight ranked women doubles players from the 2019 season are eligible to play in the WTA Finals and those eight women get to play for $2 million in prize money.

The doubles teams play in two-group round-robin elimination matches with the four winning teams advancing to the semifinals and then the final two teams playing for the championship. Seedings for the first matches are based upon rankings the teams have earned over the course of the WTA season.

All prize money below is in American dollars. The money shown is per team so to get the per player amount you divide in half as noted below.


Women's Doubles Tennis Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 WTA Finals



  • Winners - $1 million if undefeated winning all three round-robin matches

  • Winners - $950,000 (two round robin wins)

  • Winners - $900,000 (one round robin win)


The winning doubles team will earn $1 million as a team and $500,000 for each winning player if they go undefeated. The winner gets $950,000 as a team if they win two round-robin matches or $900,000 if they win one round-robin match. The winners get $685,000 for the win plus $50,000 for each round-robin plus $165,000 participation fee.



  • Runners-Up - $525,000 (3 round robin wins)

  • Runners-Up - $475,000 (2 round robin wins)

  • Runners-Up - $425,000 (1 round robin win)



The runners-up team will earn $525,000 or $475,000 or $425,000 depending upon how many round robin matches they win. Reaching the semis is worth $210,000 plus $50,000 for each round robin win plus $165,000 participation bonus.



  • Semifinalists - $315,000

  • Semifinalists - $265,000

  • Semifinalists - $215,000



The two teams that lose in the semifinals will get the money above based upon how many round robin matches they win. It's $50,000 for each round-robin win plus each team gets the $165,000 participation bonus.
