PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 BMW Championship

The 2019 BMW Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from August 15-18, 2019, at the Medinah Country Club located in the Chicago suburb of Medinah, Illinois. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2019 BMW Championship.



The 2019 BMW Championship is the second of the three FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments. The tournament dates back to 2007, and it has been part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs since the playoffs started in the same year. 

Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson jointly hold the record for most wins with two each. To date, three players - Tiger Woods in both 2007 and 2009 and Billy Horschel in 2014, won this event and then went on to win the FedEx Cup and rich $10 million bonus.

Only the top 70 players in Fedex Cup points after the Northern Trust are eligible to play in the 2019 BMW Championship. The top 30 players after this event will move on to play in the 3rd playoff event the season ending Tour Championship. 

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2019 BMW Championship is $9.25 million. That's up 2.9% over the $9 million that was up for grabs in this FedEx Cup Playoff PGA Tour event last year.

  • Winner - $1.665 million

The winner of the 2019 BMW Championship will earn $1.665 million. That's up 2.9% over the $1.62 million in prize money that Keegan Bradley earned when he won this playoff tournament last year.


  • Second place - $999,000


  • Third place - $629,000


  • Fourth place - $444,000
