PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 Barracuda Championship

The 2019 Barracuda Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from July 25-28, 2019, at the Montreux Golf and Country Club located in Reno, Nevada. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2019 Barracuda Championship.

The Barracuda Championship dates back to 1999. It is an alternate event on the PGA Tour opposite the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Vaughn Taylor and J.J. Henry jointly hold the record for most wins with two each. U.S. open winner (2006) Geoff Ogilvy won this event in 2014. Tiger Woods college roommate at Stanford, Notah Begay, won this event in 1999.

Since 2012, the Barracuda Championship uses a Modified Stablerford scoring system where players try to get points. An albatross is worth 8 points, a eagle is worth 5 points and a birdie is worth 2 points. A bogey is a -1 score and a double-bogey or worse is scored at -3 points. The player with the most points wins the tournament.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2019 Barracuda Championship is $3.5 million. That's up 3.0% over the $3.4 million that was up for grabs in this PGA Tour event last year.

The winner of the Barracuda Championship does not get a Masters invitation. The winner does get modified Fed Ex Cup points and most importantly still gets a two-year PGA exemption for his tour card.
