European Tour Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship

The 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship golf tournament on the European Tour is taking place this week from February 21-24, 2019, at the Club de Golf Chapultepec located in Mexico City, Mexico. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the European Tour golfers playing in the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship.

The WGC-Mexico Championship is one of the highest paying European Tour golf events of the year and it is also co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour. The 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship is a no-cut event so all players who finish will earn a paycheck of at least $50,000 plus.

The WGC-Mexico Championship dates back to 1999. Tiger Woods easily holds the record for most wins with seven (1999, 2002, 2003, 2005-07, 2013). Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson with two wins each are the only other golfers with multiple wins in this event. Tiger Woods is playing in the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship is $10.25 million. That's up 2.5% over the $10 million that was up for grabs in this tournament last year. This tournament is tied for the highest prize money for any European Tour event other than the four majors and the Players Championship.
