2019 Australian Open Grand Slam WTA Women's Tennis Prize Money Up for Grabs

The 2019 Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament for women players on the WTA circuit is taking place this month from January 14-27, 2019, on the outdoor hard courts at the Melbourne Park sports center located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the women tennis players at the 2019 Australian Open.

The Australian Open is the first of the four major Grand Slam tennis tournaments played annually. The majors are the best tennis tournaments played each year and and they also pay the most prize money.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2019 Australian Open for all players is $44.63 million. The total prize money in Australian dollars this year is a record amount but because of the drop of the Australian dollar vs the US dollar the amount of prize money in US dollars is lower for most rounds below except for the first three rounds.

The prize money listed below is not cumulative, players only earn the amounts shown for the last round they advance to. All prize money has been converted from Australian dollars to American dollars.

The top ranked women players in the 2019 Australian Open are Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Angelique Kerber and Elina Svitolina. Defending champion Serena Williams is planning to play this year but her ranking is outside the top four.
