PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions

The 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from January 3-6, 2019, on the Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort located in Maui, Hawaii. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers this week at the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions is a winners only event limited to all the players who won a PGA  Tour tournament during the 2018 calendar year (not the 2018 season). This is the first event of the 2019 calendar year but the 9th event of the 2019 season which began in October.

This reward event has been played since 1953. Jack Nicklaus holds the record for most wins with five. Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson are two of the four players who have each won this event three times. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson are among the 10 players who have won this event twice each.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions is $6.5 million. That's up 3.2% over the $6.3 million that was up for grabs in this PGA Tour event last year.

This tournament rewards every player for winning in the previous calendar year as long as they play in this event. Only 36 players are eligible to play in this event this year and all get a big guaranteed paycheck this week with the last place finisher getting at least $70,000.
