What Woman LPGA Golfer Has Won Twice on the PGA Tour?

Did you know that a woman LPGA golfer has won twice on the PGA Tour? Not only is that true but the woman golfer has the two wins in 2017 and 2018. Any idea who the woman golfer is?

The woman LPGA golfer has the two wins in unofficial money PGA Tour events but they are still PGA Tour events. Unfortunately it looks like the event the woman golfer has the two wins in is not being played in 2019 so the woman golfer may remain the only woman to win on the PGA Tour for quite some time.

For the record, a man has won an event on the LPGA Tour and the man was not just any golfer. In 1961 and 1962, the Royal Poinciana Invitational tournament on the LPGA Tour had men competing against women.

In 1961, a total of 24 golfers (12 men and 12 women) played in the event. Louise Suggs won the event by one stroke over male golfer and club pro Dub Pagan and three strokes over golf immortal Sam Snead. In 1962, the field consisted of Sam Snead taking on 14 women LPGA golfers and Slammin' Sammy won the event. He remains the only male to have won a LPGA event.

Who is the only woman to have won not just once but twice on the PGA Tour?

What Woman LPGA Golfer Has Won Twice on the PGA Tour?

  • Brooke Henderson

In both 2017 and 2018, Brooke Henderson won the unofficial money event the CVS Health Charity Classic. The event in both years consisted of three player teams with one golfer each from the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.

Brooke Henderson played with both Keegan Bradley and Billy Andrade in 2017 and 2018 and the team won the PGA event in both years. Prior to 2017, the event had two man teams with a player each from the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions.

The prize money for the CVS Health Charity Classic was $1.5 million with the winning team earning $150,000. So Brooke Henderson earned $50,000 in each year for her two PGA Tour wins.

The CVS Health Charity Classic is not listed for the upcoming 2019 PGA Tour season. It would be a shame if the event is not played anymore as over $21 million was raised for charity during the event in 2018.

If the event has been discontinued than Brooke Henderson could remain the only woman to win a PGA Tour event for quite some time. Lexi Thompson has played in the QBE Shootout the last few years but she has not come close to winning the event.
