Golfers Who Won the Most Money on the PGA Tour in 2018

The 2018 PGA Tour season, which began in October of 2017, ended on September 23, 2018 when Tiger Woods won the Tour Championship.  Here is a list of the golfers who won the most money on the PGA Tour for the 2018 season.



The list includes all money the golfers earned this year on the PGA Tour including official, unofficial and FedEx Cup Playoff money. For each player listed I've broken down the money won by official events, unofficial events and the FedEx Cup Playoffs. 

As you can see from the list below, PGA Tour golfers make just about as much money as pro athletes in any sport at the top end. For the record, 114 PGA Tour golfers earned over $1 million during the 2018 season.



Golfers Who Won the Most Money on the PGA Tour in 2018




1. Justin Rose - $18.275 million

With a total of $18.275 million, Justin Rose won the most money of any golfer on the PGA Tour for the 2018 season. Rose won $8.13 million playing in official money events this year. He also won another $145,000 in the Hero World Challenge unofficial money event.

Justin Rose also won the FedEx Cup in 2018 which is worth $10 million. Add all that up and Justin Rose won $18.275 million playing on the PGA Tour in 2018.

For the season, Justin Rose had two wins. He won the WGC-HSBC which was worth $1.66 million and he also won the Fort Worth Invitational which was worth $1.278 million. Rose also had three second place finishes which earned him another $2.64 million combined. He had another six top 10 finishes and the 11 top 10s in 2018 earned him the bulk of his prize money for the season outside of the FedEx Cup.



2. Bryson DeChambeau - $10.095 million

Bryson DeChambeau won the second most money on the PGA Tour in 2018 with $10.095 million. DeChambeau won $8.095 million in official money events on the PGA Tour. That included wins in the Memorial ($1.6 million 1st place), Northern Trust ($1.62 million) and the Dell Technologies Championship ($1.62 million). He also won $2 million in the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs (3rd place) giving him $10.095 million in earnings for 2018.



3. Dustin Johnson - $10.067 million 

Dustin Johnson won the third most money on the PGA Tour in 2018 with $10.067 million. DJ won $8.46 million in official money events plus $107,000 playing in the Hero World Challenge unofficial money PGA Tour event. That included wins in the Sentry Tournament of Champions ($1.26 million), FedEx St. Jude Classic ($1.188 million) and the RBC Canadian Open ($1.116 million). He also won $1.5 million in the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs (4th place) giving him $10.067 million in earnings for 2018.



4. Justin Thomas - $9.51 million

Justin Thomas won $8.695 million in official money events plus $115,000 in the Hero World Challenge and he won another $700,000 for finishing 7th in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. That gives JT a total of $9.51 million money won on the PGA Tour in 2018. JT won the CJ Cup ($1.665 million), Honda Classic ($1.188 million) and the WGC-Bridgestone ($1.7 million) this season.



5. Tiger Woods - $8.563 million

Tiger Woods won the 5th most money on the PGA Tour in 2018 with earnings of $8.563 million. Tiger won $6.444 million in official money events plus $122,500 in the Hero World Challenge plus $3 million for finishing in 2nd place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
