PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs 2018 Dell Technologies Championship (2nd FedEx Cup Playoff Event)

The 2018 Dell Technologies Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from August 31 to September 3, 2018, at the TPC Boston golf club located in the Boston suburb of Norton, Massachusetts. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2018 Dell Technologies Championship.

The 2018 Dell Technologies Championship is the second of the four FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments. The tournament dates back to 2003, and it has been part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs since the playoffs started in 2007. This is the last year this event will be played. Starting next year the tour is cutting back the playoffs to just three tournaments and this event is being eliminated.

Vijay Singh and Rory McIlroy jointly hold the record for most wins with two each but Rory McIlroy is the only player to win this event twice as part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Tiger Woods won this event in 2006 before it was a playoff event. To date, three players - McIlroy in 2016, Henrik Stenson in 2013 and Justin Thomas in 2017, won this event and then went on to win the FedEx Cup and $10 million bonus.

Only the top 100 players in Fedex Cup points after the Northern Trust are eligible to play in the 2017 Dell Technologies Championship. The top 70 players after this event will move on to play in the 3rd playoff event the BMW Championship.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2018 Dell Technologies Championship is $9 million. That's up 2.9% over the $8.75 million that was up for grabs in this FedEx Cup Playoff PGA Tour event last year.
