See NFL Salaries for the 2018 Season

Here's what NFL salaries will be for the 2018 season. The NFL has announced that the salary cap for each team for the 2018 season will be $177.2 million.

So it's not that difficult to calculate out the average salary of a NFL football player for the 2018 season. For comparison purposes, the average salary of a NFL football player for the 2017 season was $2.8 million

Average Salary of NFL Player in 2018 - $3.34 million

The average salary of a NFL football player for the 2018 season will be $3.34 million. To get that number we take the salary cap for each team of $177.2 million and divide by 53 players.

Each team is required to spend at least 89% of the salary cap which equals $157.7 million. So theoretically the real average salary could be as low as $2.98 million but in reality most teams will spend close to the full cap space of $177.2 million

The average salary for a NFL player for the 2018 season includes all players. That includes Jimmy Garoppolo who is scheduled to make $27.5 million from the San Francisco 49ers, the highest salary for the 2018 season and players making the league absolute minimum of $480,000.

The average salaries of NFL football players for the 2018 season are very high compared to the average salary of a worker in the United States. The average worker in the United States in 2018 will make $52,000.

So the average NFL football player will make over 60 times what the average worker in the United States will make in 2018. The reality is the average worker will not earn in their entire lifetime what the average NFL football player will make in 2018.
