PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship

The 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from March 1-4, 2018, at the Club de Golf Chapultepec located in Mexico City, Mexico. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers playing in the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship.

The WGC-Mexico Championship is one of the top PGA golf events of the year and it is also co-sanctioned by the European Tour. The 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship is a no-cut event so all players who finish will earn a paycheck of at least around $50,000.

The WGC-Mexico Championship dates back to 1999. Tiger Woods easily holds the record for most wins with seven (1999, 2002, 2003, 2005-07, 2013). Ernie Els and Dustin Johnson with two wins each are the only other golfers with multiple wins in this event. Tiger Woods is not eligible for the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship is $10 million. That's up 2.6% over the $9.75 million that was up for grabs in this tournament last year. This tournament has the highest prize money for any PGA event other than the four majors and the Players Championship.
