PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2018 Sony Open in Hawaii

The 2018 Sony Open in Hawaii golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from January 11-14, 2018, at the Waialae Country Club located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers this week at the 2018 Sony Open in Hawaii. 



The Sony Open in Hawaii dates back to 1965. Jimmy Walker, Ernie Els, Lanny Wadkins, Corey Pavin and Hubert Green jointly hold the record for most wins with two each. Justin Thomas, the PGA Player of the Year, is the defending champion.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2018 Sony Open in Hawaii is $6.2 million. That's up 3.3% over the $6 million that was up for grabs in this PGA Tour event last year.

The winner of the 2018 Sony Open in Hawaii will earn $1.116 million. That's up 3.3% over the $1.08 million in prize money that Justin Thomas earned  last year when he won this event.


  • Second place - $657,200


  • Third place - $421,600


  • Fourth place - $297,600


  • Fifth place - $248,000
