Shortest Professional Golfers of All-Time

The following is a list of the shortest professional golfers that I am aware of and know about. If anybody knows of a shorter professional golfer please leave a comment.

The average height of a man in the United States today is 5' 9 1/2". As you can see below all the pro golfers on this list are much shorter than that. Is it a disadvantage in golf to be short? It can be but as you'll see below the most successful short golfer of all-time could hit the ball as far as anybody in his day.

Shortest Professional Golfers of All-Time

1. Tadd Fujikawa - 5' 1"

At a height of 5' 1", Tadd Fujikawa is the shortest professional golfer of all-time. Tadd was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 8, 1991, to Japanese-American parents. He was born prematurely and weighed just 1 lb 15 ounces at birth. Despite his short height, in 2006 Tadd Fujikawa became the youngest player to ever qualify for the U.S. Open when he was 15 years old. He missed the cut.

In 2007, at the age of 16 years and 4 days, Tadd Fujikawa became the 3rd youngest player to ever make the cut at a PGA Tournament when he made the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Tadd was an amateur then. He has played in a few other PGA events since then and has earned about $100,000 on the PGA and Web.com Tours. Tadd Fujikawa played the 2017 season on the Mackenzie PGA Canada Tour.

T-2. Ian Woosnam - 5' 4"

Ian Woosnam from England is the shortest golf major winner at 5' 4" tall. Woosnam won the 1991 Masters. That was one of his two wins on the PGA Tour. Ian Woosnam won 29 times on the European Tour which is 6th best all-time.

T-2. Prayad Marksaeng - 5' 4"

Prayad Marksaeng from Thailand is 5' 4" tall. Prayad has won 10 times on the Asian Tour and 6 more times on the Japan Golf Tour. He's 51 years old.

T-4. Gene Sarazan - 5' 5" 

Without a doubt, the greatest shortest golfer of all-time is Gene Sarazen. Born in Harrison, New York in 1902, Gene Sarazen won 7 golf majors and won all four majors for a career Grand Slam. Sarazen also won 39 times on the PGA Tour which is good for 11th all-time. 

Despite his height, Gene Sarazen was one of the longest hitters in golf during his playing days. Sarazen is also famous in golf for having invented the modern sand wedge. He died in 1999 at the age of 97.

T-4. S.S.P. Chawrasia - 5' 5"

Shiv Chawrasia from India has won four times on the European Tour so far in his career. Shiv will be 40 years old in 2018.

T-4. Jbe' Kruger - 5' 5"

Jbe' Kruger from South Africa stands 5' 5" tall. Kruger plays on the European, Asian and Sunshine Tours. He's won once on the European Tour, once on the Asian Tour and four times on the Sunshine Tour.

T-7. Gary Player - 5' 6"

Gary Player from South Africa won well over 100 professional golf tournaments over his brilliant career including 9 majors. Like Gene Sarazen above, Gary Player won all four majors for a career Grand Slam. Only five players in history have won career Grand Slams and two of them are on this list of shortest golfers of all-time.
