PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 CJ Cup

The 2017 CJ Cup golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from October 19-22, 2017, at the Nine Bridges Golf Club located on Jeju Island, South Korea. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2017 CJ Cup.

The CJ Cup is the third tournament of the 2018 PGA Tour season even though it is being played in 2017. Since 2013, the PGA Tour season begins in October of one year and finishes in September of the following year.   

The CJ Cup is a brand new tournament on the PGA Tour. The field for the CJ Cup is limited to just 78 players with the top 60 players from the 2017 FedEx Cup standings getting invites as well as some Korean and Asian tour players and eight sponsor exemptions.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 CJ Cup is $9.25 million. That's at the very high end for most PGA Tour tournaments.

  • Winner - $1.665 million

The winner of the 2017 CJ Cup will earn $1.665 million. That's the biggest prize money for 1st place on the PGA Tour for 2018 season outside of the majors and WGC events.

  • Second place - $999,000

  • Third place - $629,000

  • Fourth place - $444,000

  • Fifth place - $370,000
