The 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions golf tournament on the European Tour, which is owned by the PGA, is taking place this week from October 26-29, 2017, at the Sheshan Golf Club located in Shanghai, China. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the European Tour players this week at the 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions.
The WGC-HSBC Champions started out as a European Tour event in 2006. In 2013, the PGA Tour also added this event so it is both a European Tour and PGA Tour event today. On the PGA Tour this event is part of the 2018 season while on the European Tour it is a 2017 event.
Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions is $9.75 million. That is the biggest purse on the European Tour in 2017 outside of the four golf majors. All prize money listed below is in American dollars. This is a no-cut event limited to 78 players and the player who finishes last will earn at least $45,000.

- Winner - $1.775 million
The winner of the 2017 WGC-HSBC Champions will earn $1.775 million. That's the biggest prize money for 1st place on the European Tour for 2018 season outside of the golf majors.
- Second place - $1.053 million
- Third place - $663,000
- Fourth place - $468,000
- Fifth place - $390,000
