PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 BMW Championship

The 2017 BMW Championship golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from September 14-17, 2017, at the Conway Farms Golf Club located in the Chicago suburb of Lake Forest, Illinois. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2017 BMW Championship.

The 2017 BMW Championship is the third of the four FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments. The tournament dates back to 2007, and it has been part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs since the playoffs started in the same year.

Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson jointly hold the record for most wins with two each. To date, three players - Tiger Woods in both 2007 and 2009 and Billy Horschel in 2014, won this event and then went on to win the FedEx Cup and rich $10 million bonus.

Only the top 70 players in Fedex Cup points after the Dell Technologies Championship are eligible to play in the 2017 BMW Championship. The top 30 players after this event will move on to play in the 4th playoff event the season ending Tour Championship.

Any player who is ranked 1st thru 5th after the BMW Championship can control their own destiny because any player ranked 1-5 will win the 2017 FedEx Cup if they win the Tour Championship. There is no cut this week and all players who complete the 2017 BMW Championship will earn a paycheck of at least around $20,000 for 70th place.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 BMW Championship is $8.75 million. That's up 2.9% over the $8.5 million that was up for grabs in this FedEx Cup Playoff PGA Tour event last year.
