PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at 2017 News Sentinel Open

The 2017 News Sentinel Open golf tournament on the development tour for the PGA Tour is taking place this week from August 17-20, 2017, at the Fox Den Country Club located in Nashville, Tennessee. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the players at the 2017 News Sentinel Open. 

The News Sentinel Open on the Tour dates back to 1990. Hunter Haas holds the record for most wins with two. He's not related to Jay and Bill Haas. Martin Piller, who is married to LPGA golf star Gerina Piller, won this event in 2014.

This is the 21st event of 2017. Kyle Thompson, Andrew Landry, Ethan Tracy, Andrew Putnam, Casey Wittenberg, D.H. Lee, Matt Atkins, Nate Lashley, Stephan Jager (2 wins), Conrad Shindler, Aaron Wise, Adam Schenk, Lanto Griffin, Chesson Hadley, Brice Garnett, Sam Ryder, Dou Zecheng and Martin Piller won the first 19 events of the year with the 20th winner not decided at press time.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 News Sentinel Open is $550,000.  Any player who wins three times on the Tour automatically earns their PGA Tour card.

  • Winner - $99,000

The winner of the 2017 News Sentinel Open will earn $99,000. The same amount of prize money earned by J.J. Spaun when he won this tournament last year.

  • Second place - $59,400

  • Third place - $37,400

  • Fourth place - $26,400

  • Fifth place - $22,000
