PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 PGA Championship

The 2017 PGA Championship golf major tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from August 10-13, 2017, at the Quail Hollow Club located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2017 PGA Championship.



The PGA Championship dates back to 1916. It is one of the four majors in golf and any PGA golfer would love to win this event. Walter Hagen and Jack Nicklaus jointly hold the record for most wins with five each. Tiger Woods has won this event four times, while Gene Sarazen and Sam Snead have three wins each.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 PGA Championship is $10.5 million. That's up 5% over the $10 million that was up for grabs in this PGA Tour event last year.

  • Winner - $1.89 million

The winner of the 2017 PGA Championship will earn a cool $1.89 million. That's up 5% over the $1.8 million in prize money that Jason Day earned when he won this tournament last year for his first career major.

  • Second place - $1.134 million


  • Third place - $714,000


  • Fourth place - $504,000


  • Fifth place - $420,000


  • Sixth Place - $378,000


  • Seventh Place - $351,750


  • Eighth Place - $325,500
