PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Northern Trust

The 2017 Northern Trust golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from August 24-27, 2017, at the Glen Oaks Club located in Old Westbury, New York. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs this week for the PGA golfers at the 2017 Northern Trust.

The 2017 Northern Trust is the first of the four FedEx Cup Playoff tournaments. The tournament dates back to 1967, and it has been part of the FedEx Cup  Playoffs since the playoffs started in 2007. Overall, Vijay Singh holds the record for most wins with four, followed by Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia with two wins each.

No player has won this event more than once since it has become part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Tiger Woods has won the FedEx Cup twice but he never won this event. In fact, no player who has won this first FedEx Cup Playoff has gone on to win the FedEx Cup.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Northern Trust is $8.75 million. That's up 2.9% over the $8.5 million that was up for grabs in this FedEx Cup Playoff PGA Tour event last year.
