LPGA Women's Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Women's British Open

The 2017 Women's British Open golf major tournament for women golfers on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from August 3-6, 2017, at the Kingsbarns Golf Links located in Fife, Scotland. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the LPGA women golfers this week at the 2017 Women's British Open.

The Women's British Open dates back to 1976. It became an LPGA event in 1994 and a LPGA golf major in 2000. In recent times, two Americans have won this golf major with Stacy Lewis winning in 2013 and Mo Martin winning in 2014.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Women's British Open is $3.25 million. That's up 8.33% over the $3 million in prize money that was up for grabs in this women's golf major tournament last year. It's also the 4th highest prize money event on the 2017 LPGA Tour.

As with most LPGA Tournaments the first place prize money in the 2017 Women's British Open is set in stone at 15% of the total prize money. The rest of the prize money below the top spot can vary a little bit from what is shown based upon how many women make the cut. The more women who make the cut due to ties beyond 70 the less money each spot below the top spot will pay. The prize money below is based upon just 70 women making the cut.
