European Tour Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at 2017 BMW PGA Championship

The 2017 BMW PGA Championship golf tournament on the European Tour is taking place this week from May 25-28, 2017, on the West Course at the Wentworth Club located in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the European Tour players to win this week at the 2017 BMW PGA Championship.



The BMW PGA Championship is the flagship event on the European Tour and dates back to 1972 as a European Tour event. Nick Faldo holds the record for most wins with four (1978, 1980, 1981, 1989). To date, Arnold Palmer (1975) is the only American to win this event.

The total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 BMW PGA Championship is $7 million. The BMW PGA Championship is one of eight solely European Tour events that carries a prize money purse of at least $7 million in 2017.

  • Winner - $1.167 million

The winner of the 2017 BMW PGA Championship will earn a cool $1.167 million. That's up 30% over the $900,000 that Chris Wood from England won last year as the winner of this event.



  • Second place - $777,000



  • Third place - $441,000



  • Fourth place - $350,000
