PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Mexico Championship

The 2017 Mexico Championship golf tournament on the development tour for the PGA Tour is taking place this week from April 27-30, 2017, at the El Bosque Golf Club located in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the players at the 2017 Mexico Championship.

The Mexico Championship on the Tour dates back to 2013. Michael Putnam was the inaugural winner followed by Carlos Ortiz in 2014, Wes Roach in 2015 and Wesley Bryan in 2016. Wesley Bryan was the Player of the Year in 2016 and he just won his first PGA Tour event at the 2017 RBC Heritage.

This is the 7th event of 2017. Kyle Thompson, Andrew Landry, Ethan Tracy, Andrew Putnam and Casey Wittenberg won the first five events of the year. The winner of the 6th event has not been determined yet.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Mexico Championship is $650,000. Up 8.33% over the $600,000 in prize money that was up for grabs last year. Any player who wins three times on the Tour automatically earns their PGA Tour card.

  • Winner - $117,000

  • Second place - $70,200

  • Third place - $44,200

  • Fourth place - $31,200

  • Fifth place - $26,000
