PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Masters

The 2017 Masters golf major tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from April 6-9, 2017, at the Augusta National Golf Club located in Augusta, Georgia. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers playing in the 2017 Masters.

The Masters dates back to 1934. It is one of the four majors in golf and is the first major of the year. Jack Nicklaus holds the record for most Masters wins with six (1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, 1986). Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer are tied for the 2nd most wins with four each.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Masters is $11 million. That's up $1 million or 10% from the $10 million in prize money that was up for grabs in this golf major tournament last year.

The Masters has a cut line in the mid-50s compared to 70 players for most PGA tournaments. So any player who makes the Masters cut earns a little bit more down the line than they would in a regular PGA Tour event. The 50th player will earn around $25,000. The Masters also pays each player who misses the cut a $10,000 payment.
