PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play

The 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from March 22-26, 2017, at the Austin Country Club located in Austin, Texas. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers playing in the 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play.



The WGC-Dell Match Play dates back to 1999. Tiger Woods holds the record for most wins in the event with three (2003, 2004, 2008). Jason Day and Geoff Ogilvy are tied for second with two wins each. Jason Day is the defending champion in this event.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play is $9.75 million. That's up 2.6% over the $9.5 million that was up for grabs in this tournament last year. The first four finishers including the winner get paid separate amounts but after that groups of finishers are paid the same amounts as shown below.

  • Winner - $1.66 million

The winner of the 2017 WGC-Dell Match Play will earn a cool $1.66 million in prize money. That's up 2.5% over the $1.62 million in prize money that Jason Day earned last year when he won this tournament.

  • Second place - $1.045 million


  • Third place - $677,000


  • Fourth place - $544,000


  • 5th place thru 8th - $298,000


  • 9th place thru 16th - $156,000


  • 17th place thru 27th - $94,000


  • 28th place thru 37th - $76,500


  • 38th place thru 50th - $65,000


  • 51st place thru 60th - $53,400
