LPGA Women's Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at 2017 Kia Classic

The 2017 Kia Classic golf tournament for women players on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from March 23-26, 2017, at the Aviara Golf Club located in Carlsbad, California. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the women LPGA golfers at the 2017 Kia Classic.

The Kia Classic dates back to 2010 when Hee Kyung Seo from South Korea was the inaugural winner. Since then the winners are Sandra Gal (2011) from Germany, Yani Tseng (2012) from Taiwan, Beatriz Recari (2013) from Spain, Anna Nordqvist (2014) from Sweden, Cristie Kerr (2015) from the United States and last year's winner Lydia Ko (2016) from New Zealand.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Kia Classic is $1.8 million. That's up 5.9% over the $1.7 million that was up for grabs for the women players in this tournament last year.

As with most LPGA Tournaments the first place prize money in the 2017 Kia Classic is set in stone at 15% of the total prize money. The rest of the prize money below the top spot can vary a little bit from what is shown based upon how many women make the cut. The more women who make the cut due to ties beyond 70 the less money each spot below the top spot will pay. The money below is based upon just 70 women making the cut.
