The Mexican Open is a WTA International tournament meaning it has a total prize fund of at least $250,000. The actual prize money up for grabs for the women players is $250,000. That is well short of the Grand Slam events which are the richest tennis tournaments in the world.

All prize money below is in American dollars. The prize money is not cumulative, players only earn the amounts shown for the last round they advance to.

Despite the modest prize money the 2017 Mexican Open has attracted a star filled field of women tennis players. Eugenie Bouchard from Canada, three-time Grand Slam tennis champion Kristina Mladenovic from France, Olympic Gold Medal winner Monica Puig from Puerto Rico, pretty Lesia Tsurenko from the Ukraine, and American Christina McHale are all playing in Mexico this week.
