Tennis Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Qatar Open

The 2017 Qatar Open tennis tournament on the ATP Tour for men players is taking place this week from January 2-7, 2017, on the outdoor hard courts at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex located in Doha, Qatar. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the men tennis players at the 2017 Qatar Open this week.

The 2017 Qatar Open is not a major tournament on the ATP circuit but it a major prep tournament for tennis players to get them ready to play in the first major of the year the Australian Open Grand slam tennis tournament which starts on January 16, 2017. So even though the prize money is not great at the 2017 Qatar Open the field is top-notch including the #1 and #2 players in the world in Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic is the defending Australian Open champion and Andy Murray was the runner-up there last year. So you know those two players are going to be prepping hard this week to get ready for the first major of the year.

All prize money below is in American dollars. The prize money is not cumulative, players only earn the amounts shown for the last round they advance to.

  • Runner-up - $110,420

  • Semifinalists - $59,810

  • Quarter-finalists - $34,080

  • Second Round - $20,080

  • First Round - $11,895
