PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open, Tiger Woods Playing

The 2017 Farmers Insurance Open golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from January 26-29, 2017, at the Torrey Pines Golf Course located in San Diego, California. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for PGA golfers to win at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open.

The big news for the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open is that Tiger Woods is in the playing field and will be playing this week. The 2017 Farmers Insurance Open will be the first regular PGA golf tournament Tiger Woods has played in since 2015.

Tiger Woods did play in the Hero World Challenge in December and he played well in the event he hosts but the field is limited to just 16 players in that event and there is no cut. It's pretty easy to understand why Tiger Woods is making his comeback in the Farmers Insurance Open as he's won this tournament a record 7 times (1999, 2003, 2005-08, 2013). Phil Mickelson is also playing he has the second most wins in this PGA event with three (1993, 2000, 2001).

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open is $6.7 million. That's up 3.1% over the $6.5 million that was up for grabs in this tournament last year.
