PGA Golf Playing Field for the 2017 Phoenix Open

The 2017 Phoenix Open golf tournament on the PGA Tour is taking place this week from February 2-5, 2017, on the Stadium Course at the TPC Scottsdale golf course located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Here is a list of the playing field of top PGA golfers playing in the 2017 Phoenix Open.

The Phoenix Open dates back to 1932. Phil Mickelson (1996, 2005, 2013) and Arnold Palmer (1961-63) are two of four players who have won this tournament the most times with three wins each. Tiger Woods has never won the Phoenix Open and he's playing in Dubai this week.

Top ranked players in the 2017 Phoenix Open field include Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Russell Knox, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson and Emiliano Grillo. All those players are ranked in the top 25 in the world.

Top 50 ranked players in the playing field for the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open include Louis Oosthuizen, J.B. Holmes, Daniel Berger, Kevin Chappell, Scott Piercy, Zach Johnson, Gary Woodland, William McGirt, Byeong Hun An, Kevin Na and Shane Lowry.

Also playing are golf major winners not included above like Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, Webb Simpson and Geoff Oglivy. Previous winners of the Phoenix Open in the playing field not included above include Kyle Stanley (2012), Mark Wilson (2011), Hunter Mahan (2010) and Aaron Baddeley (2007).

The Phoenix Open is easily the most rowdy and popular non-major golf tournament each year on the PGA Tour. This year watch the rowdy, bawdy crowd go crazy when Andrew "Beef" Johnston steps up to the tee at the 16th hole called the Coliseum.

The overall playing field for the 2017 Phoenix Open is pretty good. With 11 of the top 25 players in the world the 2017 Phoenix Open is well worth watching and the huge crowds will have plenty of fun on the PGA Tour this week.
