LPGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs for Women Players at 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational

The 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational golf tournament for women players on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from November 10-13, 2016, at the Club de Golf Mexico located in Mexico City, Mexico. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the women golfers at the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational.



The Lorena Ochoa Invitational dates back to 2008. The field is limited to 36 women golfers invited from the top 5 in the women's golf rankings, the 26 women at the top og the LPGA money list and 5 women from sponsor exemptions. Notable past winners include Michelle Wie in 2009, Christie Kerr in 2012 and Lexi Thompson in 2013.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational is $1.0 million. That is the same amount of prize money as last year. The amount of prize money is below almost all LPGA Tournaments but there are only 36 women playing this week and each woman who completes the tournament will earn a paycheck of at least around $8,000.

  • Winner - $200,000

The winner of the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational will earn or win a paycheck of $200,000. That is the same amount of prize money that Inbee Park earned when she won this women's golf tournament last year.

  • Second place - $103,499

Second place is worth $103,499 at the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational golf tournament for women players. The same amount of prize money earned by Carlota Ciganda when she finished alone in 2nd place here last year.

  • Third place - $75,045

Third place at the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational is worth $75,045. The same amount of prize money earned by Sei Young Kim when she finished alone here in 2015.

  • Fourth place - $58,053

Fourth place is worth  $58,053 at the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. The same amount of prize money earned by So Yeon Ryu when she finished alone in 4th place here last year.
