European Tour Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship

The 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship golf tournament on the European Tour is taking place this week from December 1-4, 2016, at the Leopard Creek Golf Club located in Malelane, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the European Tour golfers at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship.



The 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship should not be confused with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship which is a much bigger tournament on the European Tour that is held in October on three different links courses including St. Andrews. Both tournaments do have the same sponsor but the prize money is vastly different for the two tournaments.

The Alfred Dunhill Championship dates back to 2000. Native son Charl Schwartzel hold the record for most wins with four (2004, 2012, 2013, 2015). Other notable winners include Adam Scott (2001), Ernie Els (2005) and Branden Grace (2014).

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship is $1.27 million. All prize money listed in this article has been converted from Euros to US dollars at the current exchange rate of 1.06.

  • Winner - $201,460

The winner of the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship will earn $201,460. As mentioned above, the winner of this tournament last year was Charl Schwartzel, who won for the 4th time.

  • Second place - $146,170

Second place is worth $146,170 at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship. Gregory Bourdy from France finished alone in second place here last year.

  • Third place - $87,956

Third place at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship is worth $87,956. Benjamin Hebert from France finished alone in 3rd place here last year.
