PGA Senior Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2016 SAS Championship

The 2016 SAS Championship senior golf tournament on the PGA Champions Tour is taking place this week from October 14-16, 2016, at the Prestonwood Country Club located in Cary, North Carolina. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the senior PGA golfers to win this week at the 2016 SAS Championship.
 
 

The SAS Championship dates back to 2001. Bruce Lietzke holds the record for most wins with two (2001, 2002).  The only two non-Americans to win this senior tournament are Bernhard Langer (2012) and Eduardo Romero (2008).

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 SAS Championship is $2.1 million. That is the same amount of prize money that was up for grabs at this senior tournament last year and since 2007.

  • Winner - $315,000

The winner of the 2016 SAS Championship will earn $315,000. That is the same amount of prize money that Tom Lehman earned when he won this event last year.

  • Second place - $184,800

Second place is worth $184,800 at the 2016 SAS Championship. That is the same amount of prize money earned by Joe Durant when he finished alone in second place in this tournament last year.

  • Third place - $151,200

Third place at the 2016 SAS Championship is worth $151,200. Bernhard Langer and Kenny Perry split $276,150 with each player earning $138,075 when they tied for 3rd place here last year.

  • Fourth place - $124,950
