ATP Tennis Prize Money Up for Grabs for Players at the 2016 China Open

The 2016 China Open tennis tournament for players on the ATP Tour is taking place this week from October 3-9, 2016, on the hard courts at the National Tennis Center located in Beijing, China. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the tennis players at the 2016 China Open.

In addition to the prize money for each round also listed below is how much the prize money has been increased for each round in 2016 vs what it was last year. The money below is not cumulative. Players only earn the amounts shown for the last round they advance to.

  • Winner - $663,575

The winner of the 2016 China Open in singles play will earn a cool paycheck of $663,575 million. Up 1.4% over the $654,725 that Novak Djokovic (pictured above) earned when he this tournament last year. 

  • Runner-up - $311,650

The runner-up at the 2016 China Open in singles play will earn $311,650. That is up 5.6% over the $295,180 that Rafael Nadal earned as the runner-up here last year.

  • Semifinals - $154,750

Reaching the semis in singles play at the 2016 China Open is worth $154,750. That is up 10.7% over the $139,820 that David Ferrer and Fabio Fognini earned when they lost in the semifinals here last year.

  • Quarterfinals - $77,375

Reaching the quarterfinals is worth $77,375 for each singles player at the 2016 China Open. That is up  14.7% over the $67,470 that John Isner, Lu Yen-hsun, Jack Sock and Pablo Cuevas all earned when they lost in the quarters last year. 

  • Second Round - $39,205

Up 14% from the $34,400 last year.

  • First Round - $20,635

Up 9.1% over $18,920 last year.
