LPGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs for Women Players at the 2016 Evian Championship

The 2016 Evian Championship golf major tournament for women players on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from September 15-18, 2016, at the Evian Resort Golf Club located in Evian-les-Bains overlooking Lake Geneva (pictured below) in eastern France. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Evian Championship golf major for women players.

The Evian Championship dates back to 1994 and it has been a golf major tournament on the LPGA Tour since 2013. The three winners of this LPGA golf tournament since it became a major are Suzann Pettersen (2013), Kim Hyo-joo (2014) and Lydia Ko (2015).

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Evian Championship golf major is $3.25 million. That is the same amount of prize money that has been up for grabs in this tournament since 2008. 

The winner's share below is set in stone but the other amounts can vary a bit based upon how many women make the cut. The more women who make the cut in a LPGA Tournament beyond 70 the lower the prize amounts will be beyond the top spot.

  • Winner - $487,500

The winner of the 2016 Evian Championship golf major will earn or win a paycheck of $487,500. That is the same amount of prize money that Lydia Ko earned when she won this women's golf major last year.

  • Second place - $303,000

Second place is worth about $303,000 at the 2016 Evian Championship. That is just about what Lexi Thompson earned ($298,698) when she finished in alone in second place in this tournament last year.

  • Third place - $220,000

Third place at the 2016 Evian Championship is worth about $220,000. That is just about what Shanshan Feng  earned ($216,684) when she finished alone in 3rd place at this tournament last year.

  • Fourth place - $167,000

Fourth place is worth $167,000 at the 2016 Evian Championship golf major on the LPGA Tour.. 

  • Fifth place - $137,000

  • Sixth place - $112,000

  • Seventh place - $94,000
