PGA Senior Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2016 3M Championship

The 2016 3M Championship golf tournament on the PGA Champions Tour is taking place this week from August 4-7, 2016, at the TPC Twin Cities private golf club located in the Minneapolis northern suburb of Blaine, Minnesota. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the senior PGA golfers to win at the 2016 3M Championship.



The 3M Championship dates back to 1993. Hale Irwin (1997, 1999, 2002) holds the record for most wins with three. Bernhard Langer (2009, 2012) and Kenny Perry (2014, 2015) are tied for the second most wins with two each. Kenny Perry's photo is above.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 3M Championship is $1.75 million. The same amount of prize money as last year and that this tournament has paid out to the senior players since 2001.

  • Winner - $262,500

The winner of the 2016 3M Championship will earn $262,500. The same amount of prize money that Kenny Perry  earned when he won this senior golf tournament last year.

  • Second place - $154,000

Second place is worth $154,000 at the 2016 3M Championship. That's the same amount of prize money Bernhard Langer earned when he finished alone in 2nd place in this tournament in 2014.

  • Third Place - $126,000

  • Fourth place - $105,000

  • Fifth place - $83,125
