PGA Golf Prize Money Up for Grabs at the 2016 Wyndham Championship

The 2016 Wyndham Championship PGA golf tournament is taking place this week from August 18-21, 2016, at the Sedgefield Country Club golf course located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the PGA golfers to win at the 2016 Wyndham Championship.

The Wyndham Championship has been played on the PGA Tour since 1938. Sam Snead holds the record for most wins in the tournament with eight. Defending champion Davis Love III (pictured above) is second with three wins.

Total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Wyndham Championship is $5.6 million. That is up 3.7% over the $5.4 million that was up for grabs in this tournament last year.

  • Winner - $1.008 million

The winner of the 2016 Wyndham Championship will earn a cool paycheck of $1.008 million. That is up 3.7% over the $972,000 that Davis Love III earned when he won this tournament last year at age 51. 

  • Second place - $604,800

Second place is worth $604,800 at the 2016 Wyndham Championship. That is up 3.7% over the $583,200 that Jason Gore earned when he finished alone in second place in this tournament last year.

  • Third place - $380,800

Third place at the 2016 Wyndham Championship is worth $380,800. Charl Schwartzel, Paul Casey and Scott Brown split $842,400 with each player earning $280,800 when they all tied for third place here last year.

  • Fourth place - $268,800

Fourth place is worth $268,800 at the 2016 Wyndham Championship. 

  • Fifth place - $224,000

  • Sixth place - $201,600
