Golf prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Scottish Open

The 2016 Scottish Open golf tournament on the European Tour is taking place this week from July 7-10, 2016, at the Castle Stuart Golf Links located in Inverness, Scotland. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the European Tour players to win at the 2016 Scottish Open.

The Scottish Open has been continuously played on the European Tour since 1986 when David Feherty was the winner. Ian Woosnam holds the record for most wins with three (1987, 1990, 1996). Americans Phil Mickelson (2013) and Rickie Fowler (2015) won two of the last three Scottish Opens with Justin Rose winning in 2014.

The total prize money up for grabs at the 2016 Scottish Open is $4.22 million. All prize money for the 2016 Scottish Open has been converted from British Pounds to American dollars at the current exchange rate of 1.30.

  • Winner - $897,848

The winner of the 2016 Scottish Open will earn $897,848. As mentioned above, American Rickie Fowler won the 2016 Scottish Open but he is not defending his title this year. Phil Mickelson is playing in the Scottish Open this year along with fellow Americans Patrick Reed, J.B. Holmes, Steve Stricker and Jamie Lovemark.

  • Second place - $515,000

Second place at the 2016 Scottish Open is worth $515,000. American Matt Kuchar and Raphael Jacquelin from France tied for second place at the Scottish Open last year.
